Recent donations have made significant differences in the campus facilities, the spiritual life at the school, and updating technology used by both staff and students.
People
The equivalency of two full-time teachers have been hired in the last two years, enabling us to offer a fuller, more robust academic program.
Two new, substantial scholarships have been created to assist families sending children from afar:
• The Western Christian College Legacy Scholarship for students west of Ontario,
• The Eastern Canadian Scholarship for students east of Ontario.
Bricks and Mortar
The Tallman Auditorium roof was completely resurfaced.
A new geo-thermal heating/cooling system was installed for the Tallman Auditorium.
Complete renovation of the newly dedicated “Merritt-Boden Library.”
Complete renovation of the Perry Hall (Girls’ Dorm) kitchen and second floor bathroom.
Resurfacing of the parking lot.
Sustainability
A microfit solar panel installation is generating approximately $12,000/year for GLCHS.
Our long term debt has been halved in 10 years from $1,200,000 to $590,000.
Our Endowment and Student Aid Funds equal $585,000 ($180,000 and $405,000, respectively).
Recent curriculum offerings have expanded to include Visual Art, two Food and Nutrition courses, Entrepreneurship, International Business, and our first Technology class: Technological Design.
